We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Manager, Agile Coach to join our Derive team. This is a functional leader position and is for individuals who are experienced in Agile Coaching, are a Certified Scrum Master, and an experienced leader. The Manager, Agile Coach is responsible for managing our Agile processes, metrics, and coaching delivery teams thereby improving team velocity and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach, lead, and mentor scrum masters and delivery teams to build, sustain, and strengthen agile values, and scrum concepts and practices, providing them the necessary tools and guidance for success.
  • Gather and analyze Agile metrics to drive coaching and team's continuous improvement of velocity and agile practices
  • Serve as a scrum master for multiple delivery teams
  • Responsible for the functional management of scrum masters
  • Exhibits and promotes strong emotional intelligence and organizational awareness with ability to challenge organizational norms and influence decisions without formal authority.
  • Coach teams in scrum and scrumban tasks (e.g., sprint planning, user story mapping, estimations, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospective discussions, etc.).
  • Demonstrates working upward and across reporting lines to establish trust to solve common problems.
  • Identify need and provide structured and ad-hoc training in agile principles and practices including scrum and scrumban.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership during engagements on approaches to overcome impediments to accelerated delivery; skillfully facilitate conflict resolution with and between delivery teams and team members.
  • Ensure appropriate risk management and control practices are integrated into the lifecycle of agile initiatives.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for improvement for implementing agile tools and best practices.
  • Ensure agile concepts and principles are adhered to and seen as the voice of reason and authority.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience in related area as individual contributor
  • 1 - 3 years recent supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree or comparable years of experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I)
  • Advanced problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrates exceptional written, strong verbal and influential communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • 1 - 3 years of experience as Agile Coach
  • Experience administrating Jira/Confluence desired
  • Experience in embedded software/hardware projects desired
  • Experience in the automotive industry is desired

This role can be based in Florida or Colorado.

This position is eligible to participate in the company bonus plan, medical, dental, disability, paid time off, and 401(k) plans. Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires an estimated base range for this position: $90,000 - $110,000/year. Actual range is based on fair market value of the role in the geography in which you live based on requirements of the job and your skills. This posted range is a good faith and reasonable estimate. Derive Systems reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
