Chief of Staff

Chief of Staff to the CEO (Remote, ideally Colorado where Simon Turner, our CEO is based)

We are looking for a Chief of Staff to join us at Myagi as a thought partner, and a force multiplier to our CEO, Simon Turner.

As the Chief of Staff, you will report directly to the CEO, and partner on strategic initiatives that impact all aspects of the business as well as playing a key role in the company’s annual and quarterly planning process, and the weekly cadence of decision making within the leadership team. This is not an Executive Assistant role - you will be part of the leadership team, and be deeply involved in strategic decision making.

Our intention for the role is for it to progress into a leadership role in the company within 18-24 months.

You will be a great fit for this role if you are an aspiring leader who wants to learn from a Founder & CEO, are a self starter, and enjoy organizing and synthesizing information to drive alignment and decisions.

What you will do:

  • Execute strategic projects across the business with a high degree of autonomy, in partnership with relevant leaders (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Product, Engineering).
  • Design, iterate, and manage the company’s goal setting and planning process using OKRs.
  • Iterate and manage the company’s weekly cadence of leadership meetings, including how information and decisions flow throughout the organization.
  • Create leverage for our CEO by raising awareness of key issues, making rapid, high quality decisions, and diving in to the details where appropriate.
  • Assist our CEO with preparing and completing venture capital fundraising processes.
  • Use tools like Google Sheets, Slides and whatever else you will need to gather and analyze data to inform decisions

What you have done

  • 3-5 years in a strategic problem solving role working in a fast paced environment (e.g. a Leader in an Early Stage Startup, Strategy Consulting, Venture Capital or maybe you’ve had your own startup).
  • You are a self starter with high energy and proven ability to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
  • Show an ability to challenge conventional approaches and a willingness to build a unique approach.
  • You will have significant experience working with remote employees and internationally distributed employees (and understand the complexities that come with that).
  • Ideally you will have worked with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with everyone from customers to executives and even investors.

This role will ideally be based in Colorado (where Simon is based) or Mountain Time.
