The Senior Software Systems Engineer will be involved in all parts of the application (front-end, back-end, services, data, devops, sysadmin) and reports to the Director of Software Development. They have an extensive experience building and maintaining production web apps including unit and end-to-end testing, deployment procedures, git practices, security concerns, and emergency systems administration. The Senior Software Systems Engineer cares strongly about writing clear, concise, maintainable code that actively avoids future pitfalls. They have a proven track record of successful collaboration with others, brainstorming in a group for creative problem-solving, and communicating with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Build applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards
  • Design and develop the business logic and backend systems as we scale through our MVP and beyond
  • Work closely with teammates to build a quality system end-to-end
  • Write unit, integration tests and functional automation
  • Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code
  • Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions
  • Build using modern design patterns and architectural principles
  • Support the Director of Software Development on defining future stories and tech lead in defining technical designs
  • Identify gaps and needs for future engineering hires
  • Interacting with business stakeholders and users to inform product roadmap priorities
  • In the future, this role may evolve to include additional responsibilities such as team leadership

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • B.S. Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent work experience
  • Strong C# and ASP.NET MVC experience
  • Strong JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, and MySQL Entity Framework experience is a plus
  • Production Linux systems administration, configuration, troubleshooting and automation experience
  • Experience in SAAS DevOps, Application Scalability, and Test Driven Development (TDD)
  • Significant experience writing and utilizing autonomous services oriented RESTful API services and performance tuning largescale apps
  • Experience developing containerized services deployed to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Ability to adapt and pivot to take on different challenges
  • Demonstrable knowledge of programming fundamentals and development methodologies
  • Experience with developing system documentation

This is a remote position, preferred to be located in the Denver Metro Area.
