1 Million Cups

Best For: Founders
Based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions and engage with their communities over a million cups of coffee, the Kauffman Foundation developed 1 Million Cups in 2012—a free program designed to educate, engage and inspire entrepreneurs around the country.

1 Million Cups works with entrepreneurs, empowering them with the tools and resources to break down barriers that stand in the way of starting and growing their businesses. Mr. Kauffman believed it was a fundamental right for anyone who had a big idea to be able to bring it to life—and we're here to fulfill that mission.
Who Is This Group For: Founders & Aspiring Entrepreneurs

What Does This Group Provide: Opportunity to Present, Peer Feedback on Business Ideas, Opportunity to Hear Business Ideas & Engage, Community

How Do People Engage: Free Events, Volunteering
1 Million Cups (1MC) is an authentic, welcoming environment for entrepreneurs to support one another.

1MC is not a pitch platform, nor is it a networking event. It’s simply a chance for 1-2 presenting entrepreneurs to tap into the knowledge and experience of the local community in a focused and encouraging environment.

Every 1 Million Cups event concludes with a question posed to the entrepreneur: “What can we as a community do to help you?” This cultivates the intention that 1 Million Cups chapters are created by the community for the community.
